Many of y’all are unaware that our Contemporary Issues class at Anderson is actually modeled after a course at Bowie High School. The infamous Jimmy Ellerbrock teaches CI and runs the Scholars Program at Bowie. The Scholars Program allows students to receive a weighted, fine arts credit for attending several cultural events during each six week grading period. I have met Mr. Ellerbrock on several occasions, and I’m happy to say that he has extended an invitation to Anderson students that wish to tag along at the many cultural events that he attends with Bowie students. Mr. Ellerbrock ALWAYS has GREAT seats, so if any of the below events look interesting to you, let’s go to them.
A few rules:
- You’ll have to provide your own transportation to these events AND you’ll need to complete a parent permission slip in relation to this transportation agreement.
- You’ll need to pay in advance, so that I can get the money to Mr. Ellerbrock/the appropriate theaters.
- You’ll have to dress nicely when you attend. No jeans. And fellas should wear a tie.
- Act right when you attend. No cell phones or inappropriate behavior – you must be a mature audience member.
That’s it. Not too difficult. So if you can swing the above criteria you can choose to attend any of the following cultural events – follow links for more info:
